Coronavirus Health and Safety Update
NEWEST UPDATE - April 21, 2020
Since Newton Public Schools will continue online through June, we will not be holding our spring classes. Our spring Oklahoma shows are now postponed to Fall 2020.
Summer Workshop - We are still hoping to hold our summer workshops - either in FUUSN, our physical location, or online.
NEW UPDATE - March 12, 2020
Important information for "Annie Get Your Gun" Monday Cast:
Our last dress rehearsal will now be on Friday, March 13th because FUUSN - the church where our program is held - will be closing its doors for several weeks starting this weekend. We will NOT be meeting on Monday, March 16.
Friday, March 13 Schedule:
All Monday cast actors should come in costume.
Dress rehearsal will be held from 3:30-5:30pm
We will videotape this rehearsal and send the link to all families. (No audience allowed during the rehearsal.)
NEW UPDATE - March 11, 2020
Dear Newton Theatre Kids Families,
I didn’t expect to be writing again so soon but Mayor Fuller and Newton Public Schools have just sent new guidelines for the City of Newton, excerpted below:
In an effort to prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all evening and community events in our facilities effective immediately and until further notice, including school performances. We have made this decision in consultation with the Newton Department of Health and Human Services. This decision is consistent with the state’s latest guidance for meetings and events which was announced yesterday. The City of Newton is also cancelling large public gatherings and many programs.
Newton Theatre Kids will follow these guidelines, and with this in mind, our dress rehearsals for each class will be our last day of classes. We will videotape these rehearsals so they will become performances without an audience, and will email you all a copy of the show so you can see how amazing your children are.
Last day/dress rehearsal/virtual performances:
Wednesday Afternoon Cast - Today, March 11 - 3:30-5:30pm
Wednesday Evening Cast - Today, March 11 - 6:00-8:00pm
Thursday Cast - Tomorrow, March 12 - 3:30-5:30pm
Monday Cast - March 16 - 3:30-5:30pm
Your children have worked so hard on their shows, and we will use these last rehearsals to celebrate all their wonderful talents and efforts.
Take care,
Melissa
