What is Newton Theatre Kids?
Newton Theatre Kids is an exciting opportunity for children in grades K-5 to explore and cultivate a love of theater. Our highly experienced staff provides a nurturing environment in which kids can feel comfortable and confident while expressing themselves through acting, singing, dancing, and scenery-making. At the end of each session, families are invited to watch their children perform a fully staged and costumed production specifically tailored to the program. Whether your child dreams of being a thespian or simply wants to try something new, Newton Theatre Kids has a place for them.
Parent and Student Testimonials
Newton Theatre Kids Online
During this difficult time, we believe that fostering community and joy through the arts is more important than ever. Since social distancing prohibited us from putting on the spring productions of Oklahoma! that we had planned, our incredible staff has worked tirelessly to create and deliver meaningful, theater-focused online classes to all of our interested participants. From writing monologues and studying ancient theater to learning dances and songs, our Theatre Kids have shown a tremendous amount of resilience and creativity. We are so proud of them, and we remain committed to providing all the young artists in our community with an outlet for their creative energy, now and always.
Check out this video, which features the "I Am" monologues written by participants in our April Self-Scripting class.
