Next fall, we're thrilled to bring this beloved Broadway classic to Newton. When a con-artist selling marching bands rides into a small Iowa town, he gets more than he bargains for in the form of Marian the Librarian and the other locals. Featuring iconic songs like "Ya Got Trouble", "Seventy-Six Trombones", and "The Wells Fargo Wagon", this hilarious show has great parts for everyone.

New This Fall: Wednesdays Are For Middle Schoolers!

Our offerings are growing, right along with your kids!

Starting with our Fall 2022 session, we're thrilled to be able to offer students in grades 6-8 the same high-quality theatre education we give our elementary school students. This new program caps at 15 students and offers participants the chance to create an age-appropriate production of a beloved musical. Thanks to our high staff-to-student ratio and once-a-week rehearsal schedule, your middle schooler can create a show they're proud of in a supportive, engaging community. Whether your middle schooler has been a part of the NTK family for years or is looking for a new outlet for their creativity, our Wednesday session is perfect for them!

Register for our Fall Wednesday class on Monday, June 13th at 7 AM!

Newton Theatre Kids Online

We believe that fostering community and joy through the arts is essential for people of all ages, especially during difficult times. Since social distancing prohibited us from putting on the productions of Oklahoma! that we had planned for the spring of 2020, our incredible staff has worked tirelessly to create and deliver meaningful, theater-focused online classes to all of our interested participants. From writing monologues and studying ancient theater to learning dances and songs, our Theatre Kids showed a tremendous amount of resilience and creativity. We are so proud of them, and we remain committed to providing all the young artists in our community with an outlet for their creative energy, now and always.

Check out this video, which features the "I Am" monologues written by participants in our April Self-Scripting class.
