Based on the comic strip "Peanuts" by Charles M. Schulz
Book, Music, and Lyrics by Clark Gesner; Additional Dialogue by Michael Mayer; Additional Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa Performed February 3rd through 5th, 2017 at the Newton Cultural Center Auditorium NTC is no stranger to children's theater, but this show truly allowed the younger population of the company to shine. This production featured a cast comprised solely of Newton's youngest talents, and provided an opportunity to tell these stories with an authenticity not easily found in other major productions. This classic musical brings the characters of Charles M. Schulz' "Peanuts" alive in a way only musical theater can. The show follows a group of neighborhood kids with humor and sincerity, taking note as Charlie Brown pines for the Little Red-Haired Girl, Sally learns to fight back against supposedly unfair teachers, Lucy struggling to find a stable source of authority, and Snoopy defends us all from the Red Baron. Filled with candor and catchy tunes, this show is a testament to just how complicated children's lives can be.
